New Practice, Deep Roots
While The Pathway to Healing is a newly established private practice, my work in this field spans 28 years of hands-on clinical experience. This practice represents the natural evolution of decades spent walking alongside individuals navigating substance use, mental health challenges, trauma, and complex life transitions. What's new is the practice-not the depth of care behind it.
Nearly Three Decades in the Work That Matters
For close to three decades, I’ve worked at the intersection of addiction science, mental health treatment, and recovery. My career has included supporting individuals facing co-occurring disorders, unresolved trauma, legal involvement, and long-term relapse cycles. These experiences have taught me that healing is rarely linear—and that meaningful change happens when care is flexible, informed, and deeply human. I bring this cumulative experience into every session, offering grounded guidance shaped by years of clinical problem-solving, consistency, and steady presence.
A Reputation Built on Trust and Consistency
As I launch this private practice, I do so with an established professional reputation among colleagues, referral partners, and community providers across North Carolina. I’m often described as reliable, steady, and possessing deep clinical wisdom—someone who can hold complexity without losing sight of the person in front of me. That trust wasn’t built overnight. It was earned through years of ethical practice, thoughtful collaboration, and commitment to client-centered care.
My Philosophy of Care
At the heart of my work is a commitment to creating a safe, non-judgmental therapeutic space where you don't have to filter your thoughts or defend your choices. I believe healing happens when people feel respected, not evaluated.
Flexible Paths, Practical Tools, and Human-Centered Care
I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model of recovery or healing. My work is collaborative and adaptable, drawing from evidence-based approaches while honoring your values and goals. I’m comfortable working across multiple recovery frameworks, including 12-Step, SMART Recovery, harm-reduction approaches, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT). My goal is to help you build insight, coping skills, and confidence—not dependency on therapy itself.
Evidence-Based, Experience-Tested
My clinical work is grounded in well-established therapeutic modalities. These approaches are integrated thoughtfully, not mechanically, and always adapted to meet your individual needs. Years of experience managing complex and high-acuity cases allow me to apply these tools with nuance and care. These approaches include:
Care That Honors Where You Are
I continue this work because I believe people deserve care that is both clinically skilled and genuinely compassionate. Whether you’re early in recovery, questioning your relationship with substances, managing mental health concerns, or simply seeking clarity, I meet you where you are—with respect, patience, and experience.
